What information may be collected on this website?

Information such as your name, address, date of birth, email address and phone number may be collected by St Vincents & Mater Health Sydney using this website.

Why is information collected?

If you do not provide us with your personal information, you may not be able to contact us through this website or have donations processed.

How do I protect my information?

We may record and update information about you in both hard copy and electronic form. Information about you is also located within the organisation’s password-protected computer system.  We also maintain policies regarding privacy and the protection of personal information.

Who else might have access to information about me?

SV&MHS is a part of the St Vincent’s Health Australia group.  The health services of the St Vincent’s Health Australia group in NSW include St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney, St Vincent’s Private Hospital, the Mater Private Hospital North Sydney, the Sacred Heart Health Service, St Joseph’s Hospital, St Joseph’s Village and St Vincent’s Private Community Hospital Griffith. Your personal information may be shared across health services and entities within the St Vincent’s Health Australia group.

Will anyone else receive information about me?

In some circumstances, laws may obligate us to release personal information about you.

Examples of this include:-

  • Presentation of your personal information as evidence in court when subpoenaed.
  • Compulsory reporting to state and federal authorities.

How can I access my information?

If you want more information, the best person to speak to is Chris Robinson. In accordance with the relevant privacy legislation, you have the right to make a written application for access to your personal information held by SV&MHS. A small administration and copying fee may be charged. If there is information in the record that you believe is incorrect, you have the right to request that it be corrected. Under the legislation, in special circumstances, access to your personal information may be declined (for example, where giving access would put you or another person at risk of harm).
